Mediation & Arbitration Services

Judy Farrington Aust is a 1985 graduate of the University of Georgia School of Law with thirty-five years of multi-dimensional trial experience in state and federal courts throughout Georgia.

At the beginning of 2018, Judy underwent intensive training in mediation with the goal of eventually becoming a full-time mediator. That day has arrived. As of May, 2024, she retired from the traditional practice of law, and now brings all the skills she honed as a trial lawyer, including case evaluation, negotiation, and juror insights to her work as a neutral mediator.

She is certified through the Georgia Office of Dispute Resolution and is registered on panels for several circuits in Georgia’s state court system. She takes particular interest in exploring new strategies and adapting them to the needs of individual cases and litigants. Aust ADR, LLC is designed to offer unique flexibility to parties seeking to resolve conflict. While Judy provides  professional conference facilities in Atlanta, she also travels to wherever the parties are, including statewide throughout Georgia. She also frequently hosts mediation sessions via Zoom. She brings to Aust ADR, LLC abundant energy, a genuine love for people and unique insight that comes from decades of experience in the trenches of civil litigation.

A few other interesting things about Judy:

She is a classically-trained singer who studied opera at the Manhattan School of Music prior to law school. In addition to classical music, she enjoys jazz, folk, country, hip-hop and sacred choral music. She is an erstwhile artist, whose paintings have been featured in gallery shows in and around Atlanta, and has recently taken up creative writing, with several published works to her credit.

Judy supports A.W.A.R.E., an Atlanta-based wildlife rescue non-profit, which she first discovered after a barred owl got itself trapped in her chimney. For more information on their work, visit the organization’s website:  http://www.awarewildlife.org.

Her typical Saturday morning includes a long hike in the woods of Henderson Park and tending the vegetable garden in her back yard. She has a thirty-year-old son, Owen, and an adventurous poodle named Teddy.
